Swishbrook site turns ONE

I just processed the annual renewal for this site. I've really enjoyed seeing the pictures and reading the stories. This was also the springboard for many people to connect using Facebook. Let me know if you think anything can be changed or improved. Stay warm!

Some old, some new

1. The roundest knight at King Arthur's round table was Sir Cumference. He acquired his size from too much pi.

2. I thought I saw an eye doctor on an Alaskan island, but it turned out to be an optical Aleutian.

3. She was only a whiskey maker, but he loved her still.

4. A rubber band pistol was confiscated from algebra class because it was a weapon of math disruption.

5. The butcher backed into the meat grinder and got a little behind in his work.

6. No matter how much you push the envelope, it'll still be stationery.

Hi from Seattle

Hi there everyone, just thought I'd say hello from Seattle. The weather here is cloudy with drizzle as usual. I'd be interested if anyone has read any good books lately. My bookshelf is getting empty and I'm looking for something new. Just finished Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell myself, was excellent and a very interesting discussion on how some people succeed - really succeed, and why. Anyone have any good suggestions on something else to try?

Thanksgiving

So Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I love the food and fall-ish decorations, but mostly like any holiday it's a great time to be with family!

Interesting local food article...

Nice article on local food options/supporting local farmers in CT in New York Times. I hope the link works....

Concert at North United Methodist Church in Manchester, CT

11/23/2008 - 16:00
11/23/2008 - 17:30
Etc/GMT-5

This is a reprise of the concert that was put on last month in downtown Rockville to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the Rockville United Methodist church. The choirs of Rockville United Methodist church and NUMC combined with a few added voices to perform a variety of choral pieces such as 'Old Time Religion Medley' and 'Just a Closer Walk' and many others. I thought it was a good concert the first time around and is sure to be even better this time. One or more non-perishable items for the MACC Food Pantry for those in need is recommended for admission.
